East-Kazakhstan region

East Kazakhstan - is the territory that connects South Siberia and the Altai with Semirechye and Central Asia. Due to the geographical position, it played an important role in the historical development of the tribes and peoples of Western Asia at all times.

Archaeological excavations show that the region was inhabited since ancient times. This is evidenced by the traces of ancient mining developments, irrigation canals, and the ruins of numerous structures preserved in the Altai, in the Zaisan hollow, on the slopes of the Saur and Tarbagatai ranges.

A majestic memorial complex includes a bronze figure of a warrior with a height of 6.5 meters and 45 meters high stella was built for the 300th anniversary of the famous Batyr, the commander of the XVIII century Er Zhanybek on a high hill in the middle of a wide valley, near the village of Ortabulak of the Zharminskii district

Zhanybek Berdaulat Uly showed peculiar for folk batyrs heroism in times of severe disasters of the Kazakh people. In the battle against Jungar invaders Er Zhanybek was on the side of Abylai Khan, and helped to protect the Kazakh land.
