South Kazakhstan has occupied a special place in the history of Kazakhstan and the whole of Central Asia since ancient times. The land where the Great Silk Road passed blossomed in every way. The cities of Otyrar, Isfijab (Sayram), Syganak, Sauran, Sozak, Turkestan (Yassy) did not only become shopping centers, but the centers of science and culture. The pride of the region is Abu-Nasyr Al-Farabi, the second Aristotle of the East, born in the city of Otyrar, Korkyt ata and Kozha Ahmet Yassaui (Yassavi), which have an enduring historical significance. The traces of the past centuries have remained architectural monuments in the form of the mausoleum of Ahmet Yassaui, Arystan Baba, Iskak Baba, Abdel-Aziz, Meralibaba, Karashash Ana, Ibrahim ata, Madrassa Appak Ishana and others.

Строение представляет собой один из типов портально-купольных мавзолеев эпохи позднего средневековья. Однокамерная постройка в плане почти квадратная увенчана сферическим куполом на барабане, основанном на угловых парусах. Юго-западный и юго-восточный фасады оформлены порталами с высокими стрельчатыми нишами. Рядом с захоронением Карашаш-Ана находятся и могилы её близких - Ибрагим-ходжи, Сулеймен-ходжи, Салим-ходжи и Даут-ходжи.
