East-Kazakhstan region

East Kazakhstan - is the territory that connects South Siberia and the Altai with Semirechye and Central Asia. Due to the geographical position, it played an important role in the historical development of the tribes and peoples of Western Asia at all times.

Archaeological excavations show that the region was inhabited since ancient times. This is evidenced by the traces of ancient mining developments, irrigation canals, and the ruins of numerous structures preserved in the Altai, in the Zaisan hollow, on the slopes of the Saur and Tarbagatai ranges.

Suspension bridge over the Irtysh River

East-Kazakhstan region

Suspension bridge – is a unique bridge in the city of Semey, laid across the Irtysh River, which is a bright architectural landmark. It is the seventeenth suspension bridge in the world and has no analogues. The construction consists of a suspension bridge, access roads and paths that connect the shore with small and large buildings in the city of Semipalatinsk. The construction of the bridge and its opening became a real holiday for the locals, as the previous two-lane ferry could no longer accept the ever-increasing flow of traffic and required urgent overhaul. Six lanes of traffic managed to unload the old bridge, the international route and Russian route Omsk-Novosibirsk.
