Karaganda region

Karaganda region is located in the central part of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rich in mineral resources. From the picturesque granite massifs of the Karkaraly mountains in the east to Lake Tengiz and the Ulytau Mountains in the west, from the Ishim River in the north to the Betpak-Dala Desert in the south stretches a vast plateau, which the Kazakh people have since ancient times poetically called Saryarka. This is the land on which interaction and mutual enrichment of cultures of tribes and peoples of the Eurasian continent, the East and the West took place from ancient times.

Стела Независимости

Karaganda region

Стела воздвигнута в честь 20-летия Независимости Республики Казахстан в 2011 году. Высота стелы – 47 м, вес – 16 т. Архитектурное сооружение облицовано натуральным гранитом. Все навесные элементы покрыты сусальным золотом. На вершине стелы установлена композиция орла под солнцем. Для казахского народа орел – это символ свободы и независимости, устремления в будущее.
