Karaganda region

Karaganda region is located in the central part of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rich in mineral resources. From the picturesque granite massifs of the Karkaraly mountains in the east to Lake Tengiz and the Ulytau Mountains in the west, from the Ishim River in the north to the Betpak-Dala Desert in the south stretches a vast plateau, which the Kazakh people have since ancient times poetically called Saryarka. This is the land on which interaction and mutual enrichment of cultures of tribes and peoples of the Eurasian continent, the East and the West took place from ancient times.

Мавзолей Алаша-хана

Karaganda region

Мавзолей Алаша-хана однокамерное портально-купольное сооружение сложено из квадратных жженых кирпичей, переход от четверика к восьмерику осуществлен при помощи угловых арочных ниш, а от восьмерика к шестнадцатиграннику посредством конструктивных сталактитов. Мавзолей является памятником республиканского значения и паломническим объектом. Наружные стены декорированы фигурной кирпичной кладкой в виде квадратов, ромбов, треугольников и «елочек». Высота сооружения – 10 м. Размеры в плане по наружному периметру: 9,5х12,0 м, по внутреннему периметру: 6,25х6,75 м. Датируется XI-XII вв.
