Aktobe region

The Aktobe region, the largest administrative unit of the West Kazakhstan region, located in the northwest of the Republic of Kazakhstan, extends from the Ulkeyik valley in the east, to Kyila in the west. The length of about 800 km from east to west and 700 km from north to south, occupies a total area of about 300 thousand square kilometers.

The Nur-Qasir Mosque, designed for 3500 worshipers is one of the attractions of the Aktobe city. Among many projects sent from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and other countries, Aivar Sattarov's project, author of the Kul-Sharif mosque project in Kazan, was chosen as the best one. In the building of the mosque there is a regional museum 'Rukhaniyat', a canteen and a madrasah for 25 students.
